Characters and Plot: How Your OC Fits in the Plot
Novel Writing Basics Week
Next to figuring out the plot, character creation is probably the most important thing a starting novelist needs to do. While the plot is important and can be all nice and fancy, it is the characters that carry the plot, engage your readers, and makes your world real. Basically without characters, your novel would just be an outline of things that happened with pretty descriptions of trees and china cabinets.
That being said, creating a character can be a somewhat mysterious process. We have all encountered the following questions: what makes a character boring? How do I know this character isn’t useless? Sh

How to draw during 365 days
By the beginning of 2014 I started this account and uploaded a doodle a day during a year. It was the most challenging thing I ever did and it helped me loads on improving my art.
I've seen a lot of mentions on my inbox about artists that are starting their own 365 Days challenge and I want to write this journal to share what I've learned through my experience and maybe encourage some of you to join this long term journey.
It's okay to start simple!
My first doodles were waaay more simple than the other ones. If I had to start the project again I would still do them simple. Of course, starting this challenge is very exciting but it

How to beat procrastination (part 2)
Most of the excuses for not drawing is lacking of ideas. On part 1 of this journal I explained why I find it useful to keep a notebook with you, and to write down your ideas whenever possible.
This second part is about developing the habit of drawing. Hope you find it useful!

First thing to know about creating new habits is that it works kinda like inertia law:
"An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion."
Which means that the more you postpone your drawings the more you'll feel like delaying them. This procrasti

How to beat procrastination (part 1)
As I said on a previous submission, I'm planning to make some tutorials on the upcoming December. Before that, however, I feel like I can help on another subject, which comes before even starting your drawing: Procrastination. I mean, procrastination towards your own drawings.
If you're not familiar with this word:
pro-cras-ti-na-tion |prəˌkrastəˈnāSHən, prō-|noun
"the action of delaying or postponing something."
Why am I talking about this?
Well, a year ago I used to be a professional procrastinator. I've imposed the 365 Days of Doodles challenge to myself for this particular reason.
While procrastina
How to Win Friends and Influence People by KupoGames, journal
How to Win Friends and Influence People
I recently read “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, and I totally recommend it to anyone who has to deal with people for a living. (so just about everyone)
The short version of the book is: Be polite and empathetic towards everyone you meet, and show a genuine interest in them. Avoid arguments and be very sensitive and understanding when trying to change someone’s mind. Admit it when you’re wrong. Remember that people are emotional creatures, and that they’re motivated by their own pride and desires more than anything else. Make people feel appreciated and important.
Although the book is
Hello! I thought of making this small guide, based from my personal experience, to give tips to artists, mostly beginners, to be more successful at selling commissions, since seeing from my previous journal many had difficulty with it. So here are some tips to help boosting your sales.
Have your commission info somewhere visible
Possibly, people won't even know you are taking commissions or if they are open if you don't put your commission info somewhere they can see. You can do this in a journal, that I mostly recommend, since it will be showing into your watcher's inboxes and most of your watchers probably rarely visit your profi
